Alhassane “Papain” Camara will be visiting from New Mexico and guest teaching for the Thursday night class
Known for his graceful yet powerful style, Alhassane shares his vast knowledge of Guinean dance with students of all levels. He has taught in the Seacoast several times. Here is a clip from a class he taught in Newburyport in 2011 as well as a post class solo in Arizona. Alhassane will be coming to New England straight from a tour in northern California. We’re all looking forward to welcoming him back and hope you’ll join us!

They’re coming back!
Celebrate Guinean Dance & Drum with a day of workshops and a scintillating evening performance at The Dance Hall on Saturday, October 5, 2013 featuring artists Sidiki Sylla and Ismael Bangoura of Jeh Kulu Dance and Drum Theater in Vermont; Mangue Sylla from NYC; and Namory Keita as well as other special guests.
